Event Management Remote information

What are some common challenges faced in a remote event management role, and how can they be addressed?

Remote event managers often encounter challenges such as coordinating teams across different time zones, ensuring clear communication, and managing virtual event technologies. To address these, it's important to establish regular check-ins, use project management tools for transparency, and stay updated on the latest virtual event platforms. Building strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders through consistent communication also helps ensure successful event execution, even when working remotely.

What is the difference between Event Management Remote vs Event Coordinator?

AspectEvent Management RemoteEvent Coordinator
CredentialsRelevant experience, certifications like CMP or CSEP often preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent; certifications optional
Work EnvironmentPrimarily remote, flexible hours, virtual collaborationOn-site or hybrid event venues, client meetings, on-location setup
Industry UsageUsed across corporate, non-profit, and entertainment sectors for planning and logisticsCommonly employed in event planning, logistics, and client coordination roles

Event Management Remote and Event Coordinator roles share overlapping skills in planning, organization, and client communication. However, Event Management Remote typically involves overseeing entire events remotely, requiring more strategic and managerial skills, while Event Coordinators focus on executing specific tasks on-site or in-person. Both roles are vital in the event industry, but their work environments and responsibilities differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Event Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Event Manager, you need strong organizational skills, project management experience, and a background in event planning, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (such as Zoom, Hopin, or Eventbrite), project management tools, and CRM systems is essential. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are key soft skills for coordinating teams and managing client expectations remotely. These skills enable seamless execution of virtual events, effective teamwork, and high client satisfaction in a remote setting.

What is event management remote?

Event management remote refers to the planning, coordination, and execution of events from a location outside of the physical event venue, typically using digital tools and online platforms. Remote event managers handle logistics, vendor communications, attendee engagement, and program scheduling virtually. This approach has become increasingly popular due to advances in technology and the need for flexible work environments. Remote event management can apply to virtual, hybrid, or in-person events, allowing professionals to oversee details from anywhere.

Job description

SOCi, the leader in AI-powered marketing solutions for multi-location businesses, is currently looking for an experienced Event Marketing Manager to own SOCi's trade show and conference calendar end to end: strategy, budget, logistics, on-site execution, and the post-event reporting that proves it drove the pipeline. You'll also play a key supporting role on ReImagine, SOCi's flagship annual customer conference.

This is a hands-on role for a highly organized operator who can juggle logistics, creative, and vendors at once without dropping a detail - and who's genuinely excited to use AI to knock out the busywork so more energy goes into the experiences themselves. If you love the adrenaline of show day and the satisfaction of a booth that runs like clockwork, this is your role.

SOCi expects to pay a base salary in the range of $70,000 - $90,000 USD base plus bonuses.ย Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ย

Who We Are

SOCi is redefining how multi-location enterprises achieve local and AI search visibility with the world's first agentic workforce. Built specifically for distributed brands, SOCi's brand-trained agents are guided by a unified visibility engine that autonomously executes and optimizes local marketing work across AI search, GEO ecosystems, social, and reviews - ensuring every location is visible, discoverable, and growing in today's geo-driven landscape. Trusted by leading brands like Ford, Ace Hardware, and Liberty Tax, and recognized by Fast Company as one of the World's Most Innovative Companies, SOCi transforms marketing from software you manage into work that gets done - intelligently, consistently, and at scale.

How Success is Measured

  • Pipeline and revenue influenced by events
  • Attendance, engagement, and the quality of on-site execution
  • On-time, on-budget delivery across a full event calendar
  • Speed of post-event sales follow-up and clarity of event ROI reporting

What You'll Own

  • Event strategy & execution
    • Own the strategy, planning, and execution of SOCi's trade show event calendar - major industry conferences, strategic third-party events, and select customer-hosted sponsorships - from concept through post-event reporting
    • Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics, working with vendors and venues to hit deadlines and stay on budget
    • Review, negotiate, and finalize event-related contracts (venues, vendors, sponsorships) in partnership with Legal and Finance as needed
    • Support ReImagine, SOCi's flagship annual customer conference - partnering with the Sr. Event Manager on strategy while owning specific workstreams such as logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution
  • Creative & promotion
    • Partner with copywriters, designers, and Brand to develop event messaging, collateral, booth design, and pre/post-event campaigns (email, landing pages, social, paid)
    • Manage event asset inventory (booth materials, collateral, swag), including shipping and receiving logistics
    • Use AI tools to speed up event content production - from drafting invites and follow-up emails to summarizing post-event feedback - building repeatable workflows the team can reuse
  • Cross-functional partnership & reporting
    • Work with Marketing Ops to capture event data, streamline sales follow-up, and report on event ROI (pipeline influenced, attendance, engagement)
    • Equip sellers with the tools and resources they need for pre- and post-event outreach
    • Build relationships across Sales, CS, and Product Marketing to align on event goals and gather feedback for continuous improvement

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Remote Opportunity: Ability to work 100% remotelyย
  • Must Have:ย ย
    • 3-5 years of event marketing experience, preferably in B2B SaaS
    • Proven track record planning and executing successful events end to end, from strategy through on-site execution
    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and vendors at once
    • Experience with event management and CRM/marketing automation tools
    • Genuinely AI-forward - you already use AI tools to speed up content, planning, or reporting work
    • Willingness and ability to travel as required for events
    • Willing to adapt to changes in the job description as deemed necessary by the business and accept all other duties as assigned

This position will remain open with applications due 30 days after the time of this posting. This position is being hired on an urgent basis. The application window may close before the above mentioned time. If SOCi receives a sufficient number of applications to select a candidate prior to that date.
