WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Event Technology & Registration Project Manager will serve as both a lead and consultant on medium to large scale in-person and/or digital events simultaneously, including and up to marquis events with 10,000+ attendees and other high-touch projects. This role is responsible for project managing event registration and digital platforms, which includes working with clients and other stakeholders to build effective event experiences (registration tools builds, digital platforms, attendee-facing event tech/tool suites), overseeing vendors, and actively managing the attendee registration process.

This role manages the digital experiences of events in their entirety, in some cases independently and in other cases leading or in conjunction with a team. This role will lead and supervise Opus employees filling event support roles on projects and ensure that planning schedules are met, budgets are balanced, Opus processes are implemented, and client needs are anticipated and exceeded.

This is a client-facing role, which will work directly alongside Opus Project Managers, Technical Architects, and Attendee Support personnel to deliver unforgettable experiences and delight our Fortune 100 & 500 corporate clientele.

 

YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, with strong preference for experience in corporate events
  • Proven experience in registration management on events from discovery to execution
  • Preferred experience with event management tools such as Rainfocus, Swoogo, Stova, Cvent, Eventbase, Airtable 
  • Preferred experience with group housing experience, session content management and tools and session scanning/lead retrieval management
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year institution is preferred

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, internal stakeholders, and/or vendors for all event technology and registration workstreams 
  • Serve as overall Event Technology and Registration lead on small to mid-sized projects, and serves as workstream lead on large projects
  • Oversee all assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects across event types 
  • Develop, maintain, and drive workback schedules 
  • Lead and support the planning, execution, and closeout of attendee-facing event technology projects primarily for registration websites, but potentially including content/session scheduling, session scanning, exhibitor resource centers, speaker resource centers, mobile apps, and customer service 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in digital platforms and tools; understand functionality, user experience, and troubleshooting; consult clients on configuration best practices with support
  • Create and maintain internal process documentation, while ensuring all team members are aligned and following established processes and procedures 
  • Manage and support documentation and content for platform/tool builds, translating business objectives into detailed technical specifications, documented processes, and project plans 
  • Lead recurring client and team meetings, and participate in platform demos and technical discussions within area of expertise 
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop robust mitigation strategies, escalating critical issues to senior management as appropriate 
  • Deliver projects within time and budgetary requirements 
  • Oversee complex onsite deployments, including for badge pick-up, session scanning, and other event technology workstreams 
  • Participate in internal trainings and creating resources; recommend process and resource improvements 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Supervises work of project team members from Event Technology & Registration 
  • Oversees work of temporary staff deployed onsite at events

  • Mathematical skills - Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to create, monitor and understand budgets, debits, credits, and reconciliation.
  • Reasoning skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

HOW WE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $66,000 and $78,000. Our salary ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
