Job description

Janelle Bynum for Congress: Organizing Director

The Janelle Bynum for Congress campaign is seeking an Organizing Director. This is a full-time position based in Clackamas, OR. The Organizing Director will manage the campaign's volunteer organizing program and help ensure the campaign reaches its voter contact goals. The Organizing Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all direct voter contact efforts, including early vote and GOTV programming.
  • Hire, onboard, mentor, and manage a team of organizers & campaign fellows.
  • Draft and execute a strategic field plan tailored toward OR05.
  • Liaison between the campaign and various activist/partner groups.
  • Contribute to the scheduling process to ensure the best use of the congresswoman's time.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of organizing tools, materials, and resources.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture that values diverse perspectives.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1+ cycle of full-time organizing with a campaign or electoral-focused organization.
  • Experience managing teams with a preference for a candidate with management of full time staff.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed, including to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Access to a cell phone, a laptop, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.

Salary for this position is $6,000 a month plus benefits.
