The Event Coordinator plays an important support role on the College of Engineering's (COE) events team, while also being independently responsible for a portfolio of smaller scale events; Supports the Events Manager with arranging all COE Advancement-related events, as well as department and college level events and initiatives; Develops plans, makes decisions and implements a portfolio of independently-managed events, in partnership with engagement and fundraising experts; provides on-site assistance for other departmental events as needed; Processes event-related fiscal transactions and assists with the Events Manager with tracking and reporting event budgets; Assists the Events Manager with entering engagement activity data into the university database. Position may include some remote work options.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience in line with minimum required qualifications.
Required: High School diploma or GED or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of event planning experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to be in a stationary position for hours, be mobile, and lift 25-50 lbs. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, some travel, and additional hours during high-volume event weeks.
Desired: Bachelor's Level Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred. Strong customer service, organizational, written and interpersonal communication, and time management skills. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Experience working with OSU's fiscal and travel policies and with the university's TAS database. Experience planning events in a university setting.
