Event Management Remote information

What is event management remote?

Event management remote refers to the planning, coordination, and execution of events from a location outside of the physical event venue, typically using digital tools and online platforms. Remote event managers handle logistics, vendor communications, attendee engagement, and program scheduling virtually. This approach has become increasingly popular due to advances in technology and the need for flexible work environments. Remote event management can apply to virtual, hybrid, or in-person events, allowing professionals to oversee details from anywhere.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote event manager?

To thrive as a Remote Event Manager, you need strong organizational skills, project management experience, and a background in event planning, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (such as Zoom, Hopin, or Eventbrite), project management tools, and CRM systems is essential. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are key soft skills for coordinating teams and managing client expectations remotely. These skills enable seamless execution of virtual events, effective teamwork, and high client satisfaction in a remote setting.

What are some common challenges faced in a remote event management role, and how can they be addressed?

Remote event managers often encounter challenges such as coordinating teams across different time zones, ensuring clear communication, and managing virtual event technologies. To address these, it's important to establish regular check-ins, use project management tools for transparency, and stay updated on the latest virtual event platforms. Building strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders through consistent communication also helps ensure successful event execution, even when working remotely.

What is the difference between Event Management Remote vs Event Coordinator?

Event Management Remote and Event Coordinator roles share overlapping skills in planning, organization, and client communication. However, Event Management Remote typically involves overseeing entire events remotely, requiring more strategic and managerial skills, while Event Coordinators focus on executing specific tasks on-site or in-person. Both roles are vital in the event industry, but their work environments and responsibilities differ significantly.

Job description

Halo is the next generation solution for meeting and event professionals, and we're growing fast! Our team blends creative vision with flawless execution to deliver experiences that feel effortless, polished, and unforgettable.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager who knows how to open doors, build trust from the first conversation, and turn possibility into partnership.

How You'll Make an Impact

This role is focused entirely on new business growth. You'll introduce Halo to new organizations, initiate relationships with decision makers, and build a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive outreach and networking. You are not maintaining existing accounts or waiting on inbound leads. You are creating momentum, starting conversations, shaping opportunities, and helping clients see what's possible when Halo is at the table.

How You'll Contribute

  • Identify, pursue, and secure net new clients aligned with Halo's services
  • Proactively prospect through outbound outreach, referrals, networking, and industry presence
  • Lead discovery conversations that uncover client goals, challenges, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop thoughtful, strategic proposals
  • Own the full new business lifecycle from first contact through close and handoff
  • Maintain a healthy, self sourced pipeline and accurate CRM activity
  • Represent Halo with confidence and credibility at industry events, site visits, and client meetings

What You Bring

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in business development or sales with a new business focus
  • Proven ability to generate opportunities without reliance on inbound leads
  • Experience in events, hospitality, experiential marketing, destination services, or a related field
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Comfort initiating conversations, following up, and staying persistent
  • Organized, accountable, and motivated by progress and growth
  • Experience using CRM tools to track outreach and pipeline activity

The Halo Way

Our culture is one of generosity and excellence. We encourage curiosity, initiative, and calm leadership. We support one another with intention, and we celebrate both the big wins and the quiet contributions that make them possible.

Our team is sharp, kind, and deeply collaborative, committed to building experiences that are just as seamless behind the scenes as they are in the spotlight.

Here's what you can expect from life at Halo:

  • A creatively energized, respectful, and high-performing environment
  • Time to connect through thoughtfully planned team outings and off-sites
  • Clear communication, mutual trust, and space to own your work
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses
  • Opportunities to contribute, to lead, and to grow with a company that's scaling intentionally
