What are some common challenges faced in a remote event management role, and how can they be addressed?

Remote event managers often encounter challenges such as coordinating teams across different time zones, ensuring clear communication, and managing virtual event technologies. To address these, it's important to establish regular check-ins, use project management tools for transparency, and stay updated on the latest virtual event platforms. Building strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders through consistent communication also helps ensure successful event execution, even when working remotely.

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are key soft skills for coordinating teams and managing client expectations remotely. These skills enable seamless execution of virtual events, effective teamwork, and high client satisfaction in a remote setting.

What is event management remote?

Event management remote refers to the planning, coordination, and execution of events from a location outside of the physical event venue, typically using digital tools and online platforms. Remote event managers handle logistics, vendor communications, attendee engagement, and program scheduling virtually. This approach has become increasingly popular due to advances in technology and the need for flexible work environments. Remote event management can apply to virtual, hybrid, or in-person events, allowing professionals to oversee details from anywhere.

We are seeking a locally rooted, community-driven Membership Sales Manager to generate leads and sales for our AirMedCare Network membership across McKinley County and surrounding counties in New Mexico. This role is ideal for someone who understands rural, and closeโ€‘knit communities, values face-to-face relationships, and enjoys being a visible, trusted presence in the areas they serve. Through consistent local engagement and relationship-building, you will develop a strong sales pipeline that supports both territory goals and team performance.

AirMedCare Network (AMCN) is part of Global Medical Response (GMR), the largest medical transportation company in the world. AMCN delivers compassionate, quality medical care, primarily in the areas of emergency and patient relocation services in the United States. We offer unique membership programs including emergent air, Flyโ€‘Uโ€‘Home, and ground ambulance services that provide peace of mind to families, employers, and communities, especially in remote and rural areas where access to advanced medical care can require air transport.

Responsibilities:
โ€ข Drive Local Impact: Sales Manager spends approximately 90% of your time in the field throughout McKinley County and neighboring regional markets, meeting people where they live and work. You will engage local businesses (70% B2B focus) and individual consumers (30% B2C focus), educating them on the value of AMCN membership in rural, frontier, and tribal communities.

โ€ข Develop Relationships: Identify and cultivate new leads through door-to-door outreach, cold calling, referrals, local events, community markets, chamber of commerce activities, ย first responder partnerships, and community networking opportunities common to the region.

โ€ข Sales Process Management: Sales Manager will manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to close, using a consultative, educational approach that connects AMCNโ€™s services to the real-life needs of families, and business owners across the territory.

โ€ข Champion with Purpose: Represent AMCN as a trusted local partner by attending community events and building long-term relationships with tribal organizations, civic groups, employers, healthcare-related organizations, schools, and small businesses to strengthen brand awareness and credibility across the territory.

Qualifications:
โ€ข Education: High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driverโ€™s license, and a clean driving record. Comfort with frequent regional travel is essential.

โ€ข Sales Expertise: 3 years of previous B2C or B2B solutions-based field sales experience, including cold calling and prospecting, preferred.

โ€ข Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of healthcare, insurance, or emergency medical transport services, preferred.
