Redevelopment Project Manager or Redevelopment Project Manager Senior

We Are Seeking

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Redevelopment Project Manager or Redevelopment Project Manager Senior, with our Economic Development team. The primary duties of the Redevelopment Project Manager/Project Manager Senior position include:

  • Serving as the Heritage District Liaison, investigating concerns from merchants, property owners, and residents to coordinate with the appropriate Town division(s) on the resolution;
  • Serving as the key point of contact for Heritage District related capital improvement projects and participating on internal and external project teams related to all redevelopment oriented capital improvement projects;
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with land owners/representatives, site selectors, consultants, commercial brokers, developers, regional stakeholders, and utility partners;
  • Managing all engagement with Heritage District Merchants;
  • Leading placemaking related initiatives, including but not limited to, the creation and implementation of the downtown Heritage District wayfinding masterplan;
  • Overseeing redevelopment related projects, including but not limited to public art programs;
  • Facilitating private development projects in the Heritage District through the Town planning and plan review process;
  • Support Heritage District operation and management, including parking, facilities maintenance, etc.

Economic Development Project Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in business attraction, business retention and expansion, small business development/entrepreneurship, marketing, redevelopment, or related economic development line of service.

Licensing/Certifications

  • Valid AZ driver's license.

Economic Development Project Manager, Senior

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field;
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in related field;
  • Experience in continuous process improvement planning related to metrics and goals;
  • The ability to mentor and provide support to other team members.

Licensing/Certifications

  • Industry specific professional certification, or the ability to achieve certification within one year. Examples include, but are not limited to, Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Professional in Destination Management (PDM), PRSA Content Marketing Certificate, Professional Certified Marketer (PCM), Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), Professional in Destination Management (PDM), Leadership in Place Management (LPM);
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt, ineligible for overtime compensation.

This position has been identified as an eligible position for a Hybrid work agreement, defined as "Approximately half (50%) of the employees' time is spent on-site, and half (50%) can be spent working remotely". Currently, the Office of Economic Development has identified Monday and Thursday as eligible remote workdays, bringing the team together in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point. Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid), Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona.
