What is an Evening File Clerk job?

An Evening File Clerk is responsible for organizing, managing, and maintaining files and records outside of regular business hours. Their duties typically include filing documents, retrieving records, updating databases, and ensuring that paperwork is properly sorted and stored. This role is often needed in offices that require after-hours document management, such as medical facilities, law firms, or corporate offices. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

What are the typical responsibilities and work expectations for an Evening File Clerk?

As an Evening File Clerk, your primary duties include sorting, organizing, and filing physical and digital documents, often after regular business hours to ensure minimal disruption to daytime operations. This position is a great fit for those seeking evening schedules and can also serve as a valuable entry point into administrative or records management careers.

Is a file clerk a stressful job?

A file clerk job typically involves organizing and maintaining physical or digital records, which can be repetitive but usually is not highly stressful. The workload and environment can influence stress levels, especially during busy periods or tight deadlines, but overall it is considered a low-stress position compared to more demanding roles.

An evening file clerk typically earns less than $4,000 per week, as most clerical roles pay hourly wages that amount to lower weekly earnings. High-paying jobs that can reach $4,000 weekly without a degree often include roles such as commercial truck drivers, sales managers, or skilled trades like electricians, which require experience, certifications, or specialized skills rather than formal degrees.
