Job Summary:

Do you thrive in structured environments where organization, accuracy and attention to detail are essential? Are you someone who enjoys creating order, managing records and ensuring important information is easily accessible? We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented File Clerk to support our family law practice.

In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining both paper and electronic client files, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and readily available when needed. You will assist with document management, file audits, court preparation materials, and the firm's continued transition to a paperless environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently, communicates professionally with team members, and maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information. This position plays a critical role in supporting attorneys and staff by ensuring the integrity and accessibility of the firm's records and legal documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for client records, case files, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure all documents are accurately filed, organized and readily accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Conduct routine audits of files and records to verify accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
  • Support the firm’s ongoing transition to a paperless environment.
  • Respond to filing requests promptly and maintain professional communication with attorneys and staff regarding document retrieval and file management.
  • Prepare attorneys for upcoming court hearings by organizing and printing requested materials.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to various departments as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to firm policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration or legal studies is a plus.
  • Experience as a File Clerk, Office Clerk, or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
