THE ROLE

A private family office is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to lead operations at their primary residence in Washington, DC, as well as a secondary property in Virginia. This is a high-demand household that entertains frequently and operates at an exceptionally sophisticated level. The family has a portfolio of properties across the country and a large, established team. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a balance of taking care of things yourself, delegating tasks, and exceptional project management skills. This role is also the boots-on-the-ground leader in DC, bringing leadership, structure, consistency, and calm to a dynamic environment. Please note, local candidates or candidates with strong ties and/or familiarity to the DC area will be given first preference.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Day-to-day operations and overall management of the DC residence and Virginia property
  • Leadership of the housekeeping team and coordination across all household departments
  • Vendor management, contractor oversight, and renovation and project management
  • Payroll, budgeting, expense tracking, and invoice review and approval
  • Calendar coordination and logistics management for the residence
  • Liaison between the on-site team and the Director of Residences
  • Maintaining the home to the highest standard, always ready for entertaining and guests
  • Upholding and building upon the family's environmental and wellness-oriented systems

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years leading large, multi-staff private households at the UHNW level
  • Strong project management experience, including renovation oversight and contractor management
  • Familiarity with the Washington, DC market required; local candidates are preferred
  • Highly tech savvy, proficient with Slack, Zoom, and household management platforms
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to relocate to Washington, DC if not already local
  • 4-5 professional references required; thorough background check required
  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to travel required
