InProduction is looking for talented individuals to join our company to help create and design solutions for high profile nationwide events. The ideal candidate would be able to provide accurate drawings for our sales staff using our drawing library of parts. These drawings would be provided to our customers, building officials and our technicians in the field. The preference would be for candidates that are willing and able to grow with our company as we are experiencing tremendous growth within the industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft clear, accurate 2D drawings using VectorWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, focused on:
  • Standard scenic flats
  • Steps, decks, and deck plugs
  • Pipe-and-base layouts and drape line plots
  • Basic stage layout plans
  • Support Project Managers and Production Designers by converting sketches, notes, or existing drawings into usable drafting packages
  • Create basic 3D models of simple scenic elements from 2D drawings using SketchUp, VectorWorks, or AutoCAD to support team visualization and coordination
  • Apply company drafting standards and drawing templates to maintain consistency across all jobs
  • Assist in preparing drawing sets for fabrication and onsite installation
  • Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of construction drawings
  • Make drawing updates based on redlines and field feedback
  • Participate in internal production meetings and occasional site visits for drawing verification
  • Organize and maintain digital project files, version tracking, and drawing logs

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree, technical certificate, or formal CAD training preferred
  • Internship or experience in live events, scenic fabrication, or theatrical production is a plus

Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting using VectorWorks and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with SketchUp for visualizing basic scenic geometry
  • Understanding of standard scenic construction components and stage layouts
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written/verbal instructions
  • Ability to interpret shop standards and incorporate them into drawing packages
  • Organizational skills for managing multiple projects and drawing versions
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with changing priorities
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and file sharing systems
