Job description

As a Logistics Account Manager, you'll undergo a comprehensive training period and gain hands-on experience while building your own book of business. This role is ideal for someone who is driven to succeed in a fast-paced, competitive environment with the opportunity to earn uncapped earnings. During the first week of introduction, the training period, and business development, we will invest in your training supplement a salary ranging from $48,000 to $52,000 until uncapped earnings are achieved. This ensures that you always receive a paycheck while growing your business. This role is full-time onsite in our Indianapolis, IN office!

Key Responsibilities

Introduction to Scotlynn

  • In your first week, you will be in Scotlynn University training with one of our Training and Development Team members to get an introduction to company policies, industry standards, equipment training, systems used, covering loads, dispatching carriers, after hours protocol, and vocabulary used in the industry.
  • Introduction to LinkedIn Learning and Korn Ferry development.

Training Period

  • You will be paired with a successful Account Manager for 26-32 weeks for mentorship on how to successfully build and run a profitable book of business with various customers and carriers throughout the country.
  • Conduct check calls, negotiate individual shipments, update tracking systems, coordinate pickup and delivery appointments.
  • Work a half day every other Saturday (8 AM-12 PM) as a Logistics Account Manager Trainee.

Building Your Book of Business (Timeline: 15-35 Weeks)

  • Participate in 1:1 sales training with our General Managers in preparation for Business Development and leading client relations and be promoted to a Logistics Account Manager.
  • Transition from training to developing client relationships and managing your own prospected accounts.
  • Cold calling, prospecting, emailing, utilizing LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and building your own client base.
  • Begin working every third Saturday rather than every other.
  • Monitor weekly profits and declare commission when averaging the required gross profit.
  • Declare uncapped earning potential on your gross profit and work one Saturday per quarter (8 AM-12 PM) and be promoted to a Senior Logistics Account Manager.
