Part Time Business Development information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Business Development professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Business Development professional, you need strong sales acumen, market research abilities, and a background in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, lead generation tools, and basic analytics platforms is typically required. Exceptional networking, communication, and negotiation skills help you build relationships and identify new opportunities. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively driving growth and achieving targets within limited working hours.

How does a part-time business development role typically collaborate with other departments?

In a part-time business development position, collaboration with teams such as marketing, sales, and product management is essential for identifying and pursuing new opportunities. You may participate in strategy meetings, provide market feedback to the product team, or coordinate with marketing to develop targeted outreach campaigns. Since the role is part-time, clear communication and efficient time management are crucial to ensure alignment with full-time colleagues and to meet shared objectives. Building strong relationships across departments can amplify your impact, even with limited hours.

What is a Part Time Business Development role?

A Part Time Business Development role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to help a company grow, but on a reduced or flexible schedule rather than full-time. Responsibilities may include researching potential clients, networking, assisting with sales strategies, and supporting marketing efforts. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to balance work with other commitments, while still contributing to the company’s expansion and revenue goals. Part-time business development professionals often work independently or as part of a larger team, depending on the organization's needs.

Job description

Description:

HLG is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people who have been injured or disabled. What we do every day, with each individual client, positively impacts them as they face some of their most difficult times. Making a difference is what drives every member of this team, and it makes us one of the preeminent firms in our industry.

We are a committed and cohesive group of professionals. We are growing fast and looking for people who aren’t afraid of a challenge nor of going the extra mile – because our clients deserve it. If you’re looking for more than a daily grind where what you do matters, we’re looking for you.

Currently, we are looking to add a Part-time Business Development Representative to our team. In this role, the Business Development Representative is responsible for guiding potential new clients through the intake process from first contact to signed agreement. You will speak with individuals who have reached out for help, ask thoughtful questions to understand their situation, and determine whether their matter aligns with the firm’s case criteria. You will track leads, follow up consistently, and refer individuals to other attorneys when we are not the right fit, all while providing clear communication and steady customer service. This position is scheduled to work night and weekend shifts. We have amazing training and support, so while legal experience is preferred, it is not required.

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain an ever-growing understanding of the types of cases handled by HLG, including a working knowledge of the firm’s specific criteria for case selection.
  • Consistently manage an active lead queue and proactively engage with a minimum of 25 leads daily to drive pipeline growth and conversion.
  • Oversee and execute each step of the intake process of potential new clients.
  • Answering and fielding incoming phone calls.
  • Making outgoing phone calls to those who submit internet inquiries.
  • Entering new client information into the firm’s case management software system.
  • Sending intake paperwork and scheduling home visits or consultations when necessary.
  • Completing intake questionnaires and answering client questions, providing general information regarding what the client might expect given the type of case.
  • Handling in-office consultations.
  • Following up on potential clients who have not responded to calls or emails.
  • Refer clients we cannot help to another attorney and/or firm that may be able to assist.
Requirements:

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES OUR "EPIC" CORE VALUES

  • Displays Excellence by being growth-minded, being adaptable, and always striving for greatness.
  • Shows Passion, care, and devotion to each client (and team member) they come in contact with daily.
  • Wants to Impact their community, feeling personal fulfillment by having an indisputable effect on others.
  • Shows Courage and initiative to overcome the unknown.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work on time. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role.
  • Able to handle sensitive information with integrity, discretion, and professionalism in both your actions and communication.
  • Able to demonstrate sound judgment, clear communication, and respectful behavior while representing HLG’s core values in a client-facing environment.
  • Communicate thoughtfully with clients and colleagues, approach challenges with patience and empathy, and work collaboratively to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
  • A sharp eye for detail, catching errors and ensuring accuracy to produce high-quality results.
  • Willing to take ownership of your work, proactively seek solutions, and step in to support others when needed—without waiting to be asked.
  • Comfortable using modern technology, from databases and software systems to office equipment like printers and scanners.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Why You’ll Love It Here

We offer a supportive, in-office team that values collaboration along with:

  • The chance to build a stable career while doing work that truly matters.
  • Participating in a firm that recognizes effort, encourages growth, and celebrates the impact our work has on real people.

If you’re ready to grow your career as a Business Development Representative while making meaningful contributions in personal injury litigation, take the next step and apply today.
