Your Role

As our Assistant Director, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the Center Director to ensure that each day runs smoothly, staff feel supported, and families feel connected. You’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining quality, compliance, and community spirit.

You will:

  • Support daily center operations including staffing, scheduling, and enrollment

  • Coach and mentor teachers through observations, feedback, and classroom support

  • Help ensure Montessori principles and MSDE/OCC standards are met

  • Build positive relationships with families through open communication

  • Lead family engagement events, tours, and community activities

  • Manage records and assist with compliance documentation

  • Step into the Director’s role when needed to ensure a safe, seamless environment

  • Support onboarding, professional growth, and staff development


Qualifications
  • MSDE Lead Staff qualification required

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education OR
    90-hour Preschool Certification + 45-hour Director/Admin Course + 3 years of experience

  • CPR/First Aid, Basic Health & Safety, and 9-Hour Communication Course

  • Background check and medical clearance required

  • Leadership or administrative experience in licensed child care preferred

  • Familiarity with the Montessori approach a plus!
