William Carey International University (WCIU) seeks a highly relational, engaging professional to serve as Admissions and Enrollment Coach. This position plays a pivotal role on the WCIU Enrollment Team by performing student recruitment and outreach activities.


The Admissions and Enrollment Coach serves as an ambassador of WCIU’s programs, representing the university with students considering WCIU. This role conducts outreach to potential students to inform them about WCIU programs, proactively building and nurturing on-going relationships. The Admissions and Enrollment Coach establishes trust with prospective students toencourage them and assist them during the admissions process. The role requires professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication experience, as well as organization skills.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students through the application and onboarding process by answering questions, regular follow-up, encouragement and support.
  • Develop trusted relationships with potential students in which there is understanding of their goals, plans and interests in order to assist them with the next steps of the process.
  • Provide prompt answers to questions or concerns, share timelines and process steps in a manner easy to understand, and help them troubleshoot issues or challenges encountered along the way.
  • Utilize various communication tools effectively, including phone, text, email, WhatsApp, and Zoom.
  • Track communications with potential students, the current status, and follow-up steps in a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool.
  • Deliver presentations or assist the Director of Enrollment with presentations regarding WCIU programs at various events, including WCIU information sessions or conferences.
  • Represent WCIU at mission conferences, graduate school fairs, and other campus events to increase WCIU name recognition and recruit potential students.
  • Plan recruitment events such as information sessions, meetings with potential recruitment partners, recruiting trips, interviews, and other outreach events.
  • Explore speaking opportunities for WCIU program directors and schedule applicant interviews with directors. 
  • Expand the database of leads and contacts by identifying key contacts at mission agencies, development organizations, urban ministries, universities, and churches, and then engaging them in communication, WCIU program materials, and exploration of recruitment opportunities.
  • Support the Director of Enrollment with other ad hoc outreach projects, the development of additional strategies to increase enrollment, and the implementation of new and innovative approaches to reach potential students.
  • Communicate with Perspectives course coordinators and host churches to promote WCIU programs and recruit students.
  • Ensure the integrity of data collected, effective and timely communication, and appropriate tracking of leads, including daily monitoring of the student recruitment email accounts and follow-up on suspicious applicants to determine validity.

  • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of William Carey International University. 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience, including demonstrated proficiency in serving customers.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with potential students, WCIU program directors, and external constituents.
  • Commitment to high standards of quality and professionalism in completed work.
  • Exceptional project management skills yielding the proper prioritization of tasks, the management of deadlines, and effective communication of efforts in the midst of competing interests.
  • Superb organizational skills, including the ability to track records, tasks, and the status of ongoing projects and facilitate the execution of initiatives.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level correspondence, appropriate text and WhatsApp communications, and professional phone or video call methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Passion for missions and community transformation.
  • Knowledge of and experience engaging with diverse global and cultural communities.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Experience within higher education, academic affairs or mission-driven institution.
  • 1-2 years of higher education admissions or outreach experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
