Job Title: Development Engineer, F130
Working Pattern: Hybrid/Onsite in office 3 days/week
Working location: Indianapolis, IN
As a Development Engineer with the F130 Program at Rolls-Royce, you will play a key role in coordination of the cross-functional product team in assembly, test, and certification of the F130 Engine in support of the B-52 engine replacement program. This role will also require supporting customer engagements, program management of engineering projects, and/or Installed Verification (Flight) testing.

What you will be doing:
Here you'll have the opportunity to work on the following:
  • Manage the assembly and configuration of engines through the F130 development program
  • Understand experiment/test requirements and turn them into test plans, budgets, schedules and subsequently test instructions. Understand and articulate risks and opportunities to program leadership to support decision making.
  • Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain, and timescale) are identified, managed (including integration of risk activities in project plan), and escalation of risks in accordance with risk management plan.
  • Manage and deliver the necessary compliance documents, from requirements capture through to evidence of compliance via appropriate software / tools.
  • This position will plan, manage, and develop engine/sub-system certification/qualification plans and participate in product introduction gated reviews, and allocate requirements to major sub-systems.
  • Lead integration activities between project teams and test to ensure instrumentation, controls, data acquisition, test limits, and test data recording are completed. Support on-site and off-site development engine/sub-system build and test activities.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 1+ years' experience OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering, OR
  • JD/PhD in Engineering
  • In order to qualify for this role you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative; and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
  • An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications
  • 4+ years of experience in technical project management or development engineering
  • Experience interfacing with customers on technical program issues
  • Gas turbine engine test, installation, verification, and performance experience
  • Project / Function Management Engineering Experience
  • Experience with the Rolls-Royce Indianapolis EVMS systems and Microsoft Project
  • Experience managing and interpreting requirements, and developing test plans
  • Experience leading a cross-discipline, cross-functional development team
  • Experience with product configuration control, quality systems, trouble reporting and root cause / corrective action
  • Experience with structured verification
