What You Will Be Doing:
Position Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role provides handsโ€‘on leadership to electricians and technicians while supporting production, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance
  • Lead all electrical work in strict compliance with Heidelberg Materials safety policies, MSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and applicable local/state codes
  • Promote a strong safety culture through job safety analyses (JSAs), lockout/tagout enforcement, and daily safety talks
  • Ensure safe commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems
Maintenance & Reliability
  • Supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of:
    • Medium and low voltage systems
    • Motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, MCCs
    • Instrumentation and control systems
    • Process equipment used in cement / aggregates production
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation failures to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate electrical support for shutdowns, outages, and capital projects
Leadership & Supervision
  • Supervise, schedule, and develop electricians and electrical technicians
  • Assign work orders and manage priorities through CMMS
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Support workforce engagement and skills development
Planning & Coordination
  • Collaborate with mechanical maintenance, production, and engineering teams
  • Plan maintenance activities to align with production schedules
  • Maintain documentation, drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Assist with spare parts management and cost control
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency
  • Support automation upgrades and process improvements
  • Participate in root cause analysis and reliability initiatives
What We Are Looking For:Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical degree, electrical trade certification, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 5โ€“7 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience in a heavy industrial environment
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience in cement, aggregates, mining, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • PLCs (Allenโ€‘Bradley preferred)
    • Variable frequency drives
    • Industrial power distribution
    • Instrumentation and process controls
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to work in an industrial outdoor/indoor environment
  • Willingness to work rotating schedules, weekends, or callโ€‘outs as needed
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures
