Job description

Insight Global is looking for a 2nd Shift Automation Supervisor for a client in Phillipsburg, NJ! Below is more information of what we're looking for in a candidate in the role:


Shift: Mon to Fri 5 PM to 2 AM


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or lead technician experience in an industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting automated equipment, material handling systems, manufacturing equipment, or distribution center automation.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, sensors, motors, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial communication networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing operation with high uptime expectations.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in material handling, warehouse automation, distribution centers, or fulfillment operations.
  • Previous experience supporting conveyor systems, sortation equipment, ASRS, automated packaging equipment, or robotics.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, or other industrial communication networks.
  • Technical degree, military technical training, or equivalent automation/controls experience.


***Compensation: $40-45/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
