Job description

Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a Sr. Reliability and Automation Technician to lead the maintenance, reliability, and implementation of automated equipment across its production facility. The position works closely with IT and Digital Transformation teams to support connected manufacturing technologies while also providing backup manufacturing leadership when needed. The anticipated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $105,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, and related mechanical/electrical systems.
· Lead the installation, commissioning, and startup of new automation equipment and system upgrades.
· Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and support implementation from concept through production.
· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
· Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain equipment documentation, maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and asset history.
· Partner with IT and Digital Transformation teams on connected equipment, controls integration, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
· Support automation-related capital projects, retrofits, and technology upgrades.
· Monitor maintenance and reliability KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
· Provide backup supervision for manufacturing operations, including safety oversight, production support, and technician coaching.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience in an industrial mechanic, maintenance technician, controls technician, or automation technician role.
· 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.
· Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
· Experience maintaining and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
· Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices.
· Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
