Mankato Area Public Schools has a position available for a Building Technology Assistant at Prairie Winds Middle School beginning August 24, 2026.ย  This position is for 6.5 hours per day with a work year of 175 days.
Job Summary:ย ย 
The Building Technology Assistant is the first line of support for building level technical support, providing technical assistance for staff and student use of technology in the school building. This position manages the deployment, support and maintenance of our 1-to-1 environment for students and staff. The Building Technology Assistant position ensures school site technology is maintained and operates correctly. This position troubleshoots and resolves technical problems in the building. The position also supports teachers in use of technology for curriculum delivery and student engagement.





Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff and students.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Evidence of reliability, including a proven record of regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals (e.g., operating instructions, software manuals).
  • Current and valid driver's license for transporting equipment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a school district or educational environment.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and connectivity (wired and wireless).
  • Knowledge of student learning and behavior management techniques.
  • Familiarity with supporting a variety of devices, including but not limited to Chromebooks, Mac Minis, MacBooks, PCs, Apple TVs, printers, iOS devices, document cameras, flat panel displays, projectors, and classroom audio systems.
  • Flexibility and patience in responding to the needs of staff and students.
