Job description

The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2025-26 school year:


Parkside Elementary

School Nutrition Staff: Monitor

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for monitoring student behavior during meal service. Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria, recycling, and with the flow of the meal service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Monitors the children making sure they stay seated while eating.
  • Assists the children while they are in the cafeteria
  • Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the school’s cafeteria.
  • Reports immediately to the manager any problem or accident occurring in cafeteria premises.
  • After the children leave wash, rinse, and sanitize all table tops and seats.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skills in human relations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety or variables in situations requiring decision making.

HOURS: 182 days per year; 15 hours per week; daily hours (10:30am to 1:00pm)

SALARY: $16.80-$17.10, rate is dependent upon education and/or experience. (Schedule #24-1)
