Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour plus incentives


Anticipated employment period: April 27, 2026 - August 31, 2026

CDA National's Kids Camp, called CDA Explorers, provides daily camp Tuesdays through Saturdays for children ages six to twelve. Explorer's Counselors provide an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for the children enrolled in the CDA Explorers Camp program. Counselors are responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner and setting an example for children.


Responsibility Areas and Duties:

  • Plan and coordinate daily camp activities in tandem with Outpost Manager.
  • Create and implement a dynamic youth program that inspires growth and positivity.
  • Work with other departments and other organizations to enhance program offerings.
  • Promote youth programs throughout Club and collaborate with marketing team.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment related to program activities.
  • Use point of sale to assess fees for members relating to program activities.
  • Check children in and out of camp and answer questions from parents.
  • Supervise, lead, and support campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
  • Monitor campers to ensure their safety and adherence to safety policies.
  • Clean, maintain and ensure proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
  • Record and report incidents to parents and management.
  • Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff.
  • Uphold the Company's policies and procedures, both personally and with your staff.
  • Engage with the members and promote the family friendly lifestyle of CDA National.
  • Provide an enjoyable experience for each camper.
  • Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all children; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Consistently demonstrate positive discipline; teach and redirect rather than scolding or reprimanding; firmly and consistently enforce the rules.
  • Express clear expectations and hold children accountable for adhering to them.
  • Help children to develop positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
  • Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of caring, respect, honesty, etc.
  • Always attend to campers; never leave them unattended.
  • Assist with duties relating to other departments such as Food & Beverage, Grounds, or Facility Maintenance.
  • Assist with projects and duties relating to other Recreation department initiatives.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and move about freely in a multi-floor building and in open space. The employee is frequently required to visually observe the condition of his/her surroundings. He/she is routinely required to bend, stoop, stand, walk, carry and lift objects weighing 50 pounds or less. It is inevitable that other duties will arise from time to time.
