Job description

Southeast Arkansas (SEARK) College's Athletic Department is seeking part-time bus drivers for the upcoming 2024 spring semester. Come join our teaAlm as we prepare for our inaugural Baseball and Softball season! We are looking for drivers with a safe driving record, with or without CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Passenger Endorsement. Drivers will be responsible for transporting the College's Baseball and Softball teams to away games throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Want to drive a bus but don't have a CDL-no problem! We encourage all drivers with a safe driving record to apply. Southeast Arkansas College has a CDL Training Program that, for well-qualified applicants, we will train you at no cost*
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Part-Time Bus Driver will be responsible for the safe transportation of passengers. The persons employed in this position must possess a valid CDL driver's license with required endorsements (passenger and air brakes), complete behind-the-wheel training, have an excellent driving record, be able to pass drug testing, and meet all state requirements for Bus Drivers. High school diploma or its equivalent preferred. Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Possess a demonstrated ability and willingness to safely drive the college bus, obeying all traffic laws.
  • Keep the assigned bus clean (wash and clean the bus thoroughly after each trip).
  • Perform pre-trip bus inspection.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of the bus.
  • Maintain safety of passengers following college policies.
  • Work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
  • Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Have a working knowledge of all applicable traffic laws.
  • Keep to an assigned schedule and properly notify the supervisor in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
  • Transport only authorized individuals.
  • Report all accidents and complete the required reports.
  • Work with diverse populations.
  • Possess outstanding customer service skills and

  • CDL with Passenger Endorsement
  • Prior bus driving experience

* Drivers who participate in the free CDL program will be required to work for the college part-time for one year.
