In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. OCDE's vision is that "Orange County students will lead the nation in college and career readiness and success." Job Summary Job Summary The Orange County Department of Education is seeking a skilled and collaborative Educational Technology Support Specialist to provide frontline support for educational technology initiatives across our educational programs. This short-term position will assist teachers and staff in effectively using instructional software, digital learning tools, and web-based applications to enhance teaching and learning while providing responsive customer support and technology guidance. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of technical aptitude, customer service, and instructional technology support experience, with the ability to build positive relationships, communicate clearly with users of varying technical abilities, and help educators confidently integrate technology into their daily work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide individual and small-group support and informal training to staff on educational software and web-based tools. Assist teachers and staff with integrating technology into instruction and classroom activities. Support users in navigating and utilizing learning applications and digital resources.

Develop and update simple user guides and support materials for staff, students, and families. Troubleshoot basic software and user-access issues and coordinate with IT staff for advanced technical support. Monitor and track software implementation, usage, and support requests.
