Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to support the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Educational
Technology Assistant will focus on providing technological, creative and administrative support to the CTL. Typical scope includes assisting with workshops, trainings, creative digital services, event planning and execution, website and social media presence, clerical tasks, survey creation and distribution, data input and analysis, and research projects.
Specific Duties
  • Provide professional administrative support to the CTL Manager
  • Assist CTL staff with/at projects and events
  • Help to secure event locations, process related paperwork
  • Create, edit, and help facilitate promotional material (newsletters, flyers, email announcements)
  • Support faculty in the usage of educational technology
  • Correspond and coordinate with other departments, vendors, and speakers
  • Assist CTL staff in the research, development and deployment of
    instructional technology.
  • Maintain and update CTL websites and social media accounts and increase its
    presence
  • Compile and produce videos for instructional guides, newsletters, websites, and other communications
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a current University of La Verne student With Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Experience in a professional, customer-focused environment.
  • Experience with video editing, videography, and/or photography, and/or graphic/web design, especially within the context of social media.
  • Someone interested in all aspects of communications with an aptitude for video editing and production.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Apps, and similar cloud-based platforms.
  • Should be comfortable using and learning a range of software and hardware tools.
  • Must possess strong relational and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to manage own assignments and work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Adobe CC or Final Cut, metadata tagging, and/or database management.
  • Ability to work within Windows and Mac OS environments.

Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
