The Document Scanning Technician is responsible for scanning all records into the appropriate database on a timely basis. The position will maintain daily workflow, insuring that records are scanned in a legible and efficient manner to avoid delay in further processing. Perform daily reconciliations by retrieving records from the nursing units and discharge logs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Reading and numerical competencies with some advanced technical training preferred.
At least one (1) year of experience in a clerical position, preferably in a hospital or physician medical record department. Previous experience with imaging equipment and database storage preferred.
Ability to produce and retain legible digital records scanned into a database in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to stringent HIPAA guidelines; Reconciliation of logs and records according to department procedures and process. Must be able to prioritize and organize data for effective workflow and retrieval
