  Advertised Salary: $13.73   Summary of Position:

The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is seeking a dependable and motivated Student Office Assistant to provide general clerical and administrative support. This position, General Clerical Level I, is ideal for a student who is organized, professional, comfortable learning new technology, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while working in a busy office environment.

Work Schedule:
Flexible scheduling is available based on office needs and the student's academic schedule. Applicants should indicate their preferred number of work hours per week.

  Position Requirements:

* Current Ferris State University student
* Dependable and responsible with a strong work ethic
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Willingness to ask questions and learn new processes
* Attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Experience with Adobe products and/or Microsoft Publisher
* Previous office, receptionist, or customer service experience
* Experience with filing, document management, or clerical work

  Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support for office projects and special assignments
* Assist with preparing presentations, spreadsheets, documents, and communications
* Assist with review hiring documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing
* Assist with cross-referencing employment information and records in Banner and other applications (Excel) to verify accuracy and consistency
* Assist with copying, scanning, and filing documents
* Support the maintenance of electronic and paper records
* Assist with entering and update information in various computer systems
* Perform general clerical duties as assigned
* Answer and route telephone calls professionally
