Duck Creek Distribution Management Specialist
Remote
Our client has an opening for a Sr. Configurator for Duck Creek On-Demand Distribution Management (previously known as ProducerOne) to support the digital transformation of new Producer Onboarding platform, CDM.
This role is 80% hands-on development with 20% Team Lead responsibilities. This individual will be partnering with architects and technical leads from other functional areas as well as playing the role of a technical lead for a group of developers. Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are a must for this position.
Position Summary
Must-Have Experience
  • Hands-on experience with Duck Creek On-Demand Distribution Management product (previously known as ProducerOne from Outline Systems)
  • Hands-on experience in building enterprise applications and MicroServices / REST APIs using Spring Boot
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases and write applications to interface with SQL databases.
  • Must have good knowledge on technologies listed below
    • Experience with XML, XSLT, and schema files
    • Java, JSP, JSF, Servlet, Struts, Hibernate, LDAP
    • Web Services - SOAP and/or REST
    • Application Servers - WebSphere, Tomcat
  • Design, code, and/or configure solutions for high complex Agile stories independently.
  • Debug and resolve high complex software bugs or issues working independently, making sure to find the real root cause and provide a fix.
  • Write well designed, testable and efficient configuration scripts
  • OOTB Configuration and customization of Duck Creek DMS(previously known as ProducerOne) applications for delivering optimized solutions.
  • Good background in database design using SQL Server
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills (listening, speaking and able to write clear and easy to understand specs) to effectively interact with team members and business users
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to take full ownership of work and show initiative as needed; Committed to hard work and a high ethical conduct
  • Experience in creating technical specification, software architecture, testing plan, release and deployment documents.
  • Develop Unit Test cases and improve test coverage for existing code bases

Desirable Experience
  • Technical Lead responsible for implementation of Enterprise web applications, MicroServices and internal / external APIs using Java and Spring Boot / Apache Camel
  • Experience in building containerized applications and working with Docker / Kubernetes / Azure
  • Cloud experience with Azure and experience in configuring Dev-Ops / continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Maven
  • Understanding of how to secure Web Applications and APIs using OpenID/OAuth2.0 standards.
  • Hands-on experience working with Code Quality and Code Coverage tools/frameworks (e.g. SonarQube, IBM AppScan)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform code change management by creating branches, merging and software releases using GIT Version Control system.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Influence/encourage team to build solutions with quality and aligned to architecture guidelines.
  • Work with business partners to understand functional requirements and translate into consumable technical stories
  • Min 5 yrs exp in P&C insurance industry

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Min 7+ years of experience in building enterprise applications and MicroServices / APIs using Spring Boot
  • Min 2+ years of Duck Creek Configurator experience (DMS Application - previously known as ProducerOne from Outline Systems)
