Job description

About the Role:

This position is responsible for managing the warehouse facility, coordinating logistics, and implementing efficient inventory control systems to meet customer demands and company goals. The role requires strategic planning and execution of distribution processes, to minimize costs and maximize operational efficiency. The Distribution Manager will lead a team of warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement. Ultimately, this role ensures that all materials and products flow seamlessly supporting the company’s supply chain excellence and customer satisfaction objectives.

This is a 45,000 sq ft facility and the role manages 2 Warehouse Material Handlers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse and distribution management.
  • Proven expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience with advanced warehouse automation technologies and data analytics tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies that optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and improve service levels.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory and streamline warehouse processes.
  • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse and distribution staff to maintain high performance, safety standards, and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments to align distribution activities with overall supply chain objectives.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to identify areas for operational improvement and cost reduction.
