Distribution Warehouse Manager Summary

Full-time | Monday-Friday | 1st Shift

The Distribution Warehouse Manager is directly responsible for the oversight of all Warehouse Associates and Supervisors, and processes within the distribution center. Such processes include but are not limited to inbound, outbound, inventory management, and product movement and to ensure optimal performance of the warehouse. Optimal performance is comprised of monitoring warehouse activities and KPI’s, as well as timely resolution of issues or concerns.

Distribution Warehouse Manager Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution environment
  • 5+ years ERP/WMS experience
  • 3-5 years inventory management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in warehouse process and procedures.
  • Proven ability to identify problems quickly and implement appropriate solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A sense of urgency
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Effective ability to adjust to differing personalities
  • Expert ability to build positive relationships within a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate degree

Distribution Warehouse Manager Responsibilities

  • Knows procedures of inbound, outbound, identification, traceability, handling, and storage processes to ensure efficient completion of daily operations.
  • Knows products, product flow and internal warehouse logistics.
  • Is familiar with warehouse equipment such as RF units, forklifts, order pickers, shrink wrap machines, pallet jacks, scales, and other equipment
  • Able to use ADP, Eclipse, Solar Eclipse, Starship, document processing, and any other necessary software
  • Works with Operations Manager to monitor and communicate appropriate operational metrics, including staffing plans and meeting labor budget
  • Schedules and reviews warehouse management reports and takes timely action to address issues.
  • Engages warehouse management and HR regarding personnel and disciplinary concerns.
  • Monitors warehouse status queues to ensure proper lead times are being maintained.
  • Monitors transfer, shipping and receiving reports ensuring all variances are researched and rectified.
  • Coordinates and schedules incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries.
  • Schedules and assigns appropriate staff based on daily operational needs.
  • Contributes to the development of the department’s strategic plans
  • Works with the Operations Manager to identify and assess ongoing recommendations for building, equipment, and other resources needed including the annual budgeting process.
  • Maintains a clean and organized facility and manages a regular maintenance plan for the equipment, vehicles, and building including building security.
  • Ensures all health and safety rules and preventative maintenance guidelines are followed for the facility and equipment.
  • Certifies new employees on forklift equipment and trains on processes and procedures
  • Performs all Warehouse Associates responsibilities as needed to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Establishes, implements, and makes any changes to the cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigates and notifies the Operations Manager of high quantity and/or high value inventory adjustments.
  • Works with Operations Manager and Human Resources to develop and implement training materials and standardized work processes for all departments within the operation.
  • Participates in training, development, and cross-training staff appropriately
  • Other duties as assigned
