Job description

The Role:
Star Blends is looking for a detail-driven and highly organized Transportation Supervisor to support our growing transportation operations. Serving both the Sparta and Chippewa Falls locations, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that feed deliveries are timely, efficient, safe, and aligned with production and customer needs. You'll help optimize routes, support drivers, coordinate logistics, and keep our operations running smoothly every single day.
What a Day in Life Looks Like:
  • Schedule, dispatch, and monitor trucks and drivers to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Communicate daily load assignments, routes, and instructions to drivers
  • Adjust dispatch plans based on weather, customer changes, production needs, or equipment issues
  • Track mileage, fuel usage, trip details, and delivery confirmations
  • Optimize routes for cost, mileage, and efficiency, seeking backhaul opportunities
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads with Production and Purchasing
  • Conduct regular driver check-ins, provide coaching, and support performance development
  • Travel several times per month between Sparta and Chippewa Falls for on-site alignment
  • Participate in safety meetings, leadership sessions, and cross-functional planning

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in transportation/logistics
  • 4-6 years of transportation, logistics, or dispatch experience
  • Supervisory or operational leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dispatch/fleet management software (Samsara a plus)
  • Strong troubleshooting, route-planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of truck maintenance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preferred: Experience in agriculture, Bulk Feed Hauling, 3rd-party logistics, and/or routing optimization tools
