Overview
The Harbor Dispatch Supervisor will be in charge of planning the utilization of the drivers assigned to the NFI Drayage business as well as managing the dispatchers assigned to that NFI Drayage business.
Responsibilities
  • Provides load planning, driver scheduling, and dispatch duties using both Dedicated Fleet drivers and Owner Operators.
  • Maintains positive and encouraging working relations with all dispatchers and drivers
  • Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal (NFI) and external (customer).
  • Provides daily and weekly performance/KPI data reports to both internal and external parties.
  • Manages and maintains driver payroll via the dispatchers.
  • Receive inbound phone calls from carriers / drivers / shippers that have a need for information related to their order. This may include providing information such as addresses or directions to a given location.
  • Utilize drayage TMS systems to address issues and document interaction with client / internal parties.
  • Knowing when to bring in a 3 rd party carrier that can provide the necessary services to provide on time service to the customer.
  • Assists and provides coverage throughout departments during vacations, holidays, and irregular work schedules.
  • Deal directly with 3 rd party carriers for tracking and tracing (via on-line tracking tools or through telephone contact).
  • Follow specific escalation process in the event of major service failure / issue.
  • Respond promptly to driver or carrier needs.
  • Provide the Sales/Carrier reps with real time information where required.
  • Accurate and timely entry into operation system of loads status.
  • Assists with implementing NFI's Safety, Security, and Labor Policies.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of daily and weekly tasks.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10yrs experience with drayage / harbor business
  • Bi-lingual - English and Spanish
  • Type 35 plus words per minute.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Listening skills.
  • Customer-focused team player.
  • Time management skills.
  • Computer knowledge of Outlook, Gmail and MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $66,186.12 - $88,248.16. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 8%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.|
