Title:
Senior Program Manager
KBR's Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. As a trusted partner with a proven history in mission technology, KBR collaborates closely with clients to develop innovative and effective solutions. With a strong ethical framework, KBR prioritizes data security, privacy, and responsible information management to ensure mission success.
The Senior Program Manager provides strategic leadership and execution oversight for a portfolio of large-scale defense programs supporting NSWC Crane. This role is accountable for end-to-end program performance across cost, schedule, technical execution, and quality, with responsibility for managing complex, multi-project product lines valued between $50M-$80M. The position balances customer mission priorities with internal business objectives, ensuring disciplined program controls, financial integrity, and successful delivery of contractual commitments. The Senior Program Manager serves as a trusted partner to customers and internal stakeholders while driving continuous improvement across program management processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead a portfolio of defense programs, ensuring successful delivery across cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality objectives for multiple projects or product lines.
  • Own program financial performance, integrating earned value management, critical path analysis, and corrective action planning to maintain commitments across the portfolio.
  • Establish strategic direction and priorities for cross-functional teams, aligning resources and execution plans to balance customer expectations and internal business goals.
  • Integrate program data, schedules, and financials to provide accurate forecasting, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
  • Drive process maturity and execution discipline, applying established program management frameworks and quality methodologies across the product line.
  • Partner closely with business unit leadership, controllers, and marketing teams to support business planning, opportunity management, and fiscal objectives.
  • Lead development and execution of annual operating plans and long-range strategic plans for multiple sites or teams within the portfolio.
  • Represent the program management organization as a domain expert, advising stakeholders on best practices, risk mitigation, and execution strategies.

Basic Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading complex government or defense programs involving cost, schedule, and performance accountability
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-project portfolios and cross-functional teams in a government contracting environment
  • Proven experience developing and executing program schedules, resource plans, and financial baselines, including the use of Integrated Master Schedules and Work Breakdown Structures

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Experience managing or contributing to programs or portfolios exceeding $50M in total value, including development of independent cost estimates and long-range execution plans
  • Background in earned value management, risk management, and corrective action planning across production, sustainment, and development efforts
  • Experience leading process improvement, quality system compliance, or organizational change initiatives within a technical or program management organization
  • Top Secret / SCI security clearance
