JOB DESCRIPTION:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Director, Tech Ops Business Intelligence is responsible for translating Tech Ops strategy and priorities into a clear, sequenced execution agenda supported by disciplined governance, performance visibility, and change enablement. The goal is to streamline and enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and standardization across Tech Ops to support innovation output and delivery excellence.
This role provides leadership visibility into what Tech Ops teams are working on and why, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities and day-to-day execution. The Director orchestrates the Tech Ops operating cadence, leadership forums, and decision flow to enable structured prioritization, risk transparency, and timely escalation.
The role surfaces cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery trade-offs, enabling informed executive decision-making in a regulated, patient-critical environment. In addition, the Sr. Director oversees change management and enablement efforts to ensure that governance practices, new processes, and operational improvements are successfully adopted and sustained. Responsible to identify, develop, standardize, and implement best-in-class Tech Ops processes, tools and enablers to increase effectiveness, agility, responsiveness and speed across a complex digital, device, and chemistry organization.
The Senior Director serves as a strategic thought partner to the Tech Ops leadership team and is accountable for building and leading a high-performing team that integrates portfolio visibility, performance analytics, governance discipline, and change capability into a cohesive operating model. This role will focus on improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation output of the global Tech Ops team. It involves strategic planning and alignment, process optimization and improvement, talent development and retention, measuring and monitoring performance, and internal communication to ensure that Tech Ops aligns with business and market demands.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:
  • Develop and execute the Business Excellence strategy aligned to Tech Ops and enterprise priorities.
  • Establish and oversee the Tech Ops portfolio governance model, including prioritization, executive operating cadence, risk and dependency management.
  • Define and evolve the Tech Ops operating model, including decision rights, interaction models, and management systems.
  • Supports Tech Ops leadership through efficient execution of Tech Ops initiatives, including championing digital transformation initiatives, AI/ML adoption, data analytics, and digital collaboration platforms.
  • Build and lead a Business Excellence team and develop future capability roadmaps.
  • Responsible for defining and tracking key metrics and providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and democratize information access. Implement tools and dashboards for real-time visibility into project status, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Agile, hybrid) to optimize end-to-end value streams. Leads process optimization and improvement initiatives.
  • Tools & Process Optimization: Standardize the use of and processes related to tools team-wide, enabling cross-functional teams to align easily. In turn, enables the successful execution of larger, cross-team initiatives.
  • Establish scalable change management standards and sponsorship enablement practices.
  • Ensures robust knowledge management practices and standardized documentation to support scalability and reuse, including maintaining templates, guidelines, how-to references, and resources so Tech Ops teams can operate efficiently
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Tech Ops leadership on transformation, organizational effectiveness, and execution discipline.
  • Develops Tech Ops communication strategy, facilitates internal Tech Ops communication with external stakeholders, and creates strategic communications to set expectations and business reviews. Communicates progress, impact, and success stories to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Partner with Finance on budget planning and resource allocation for Business Excellence initiatives.
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence across Tech Ops. Plays a key role in fostering positive and inclusive culture within Tech Ops driving innovation and supporting employee development.
  • Supports staffing, budget, and facilities initiatives across Tech Ops organization
  • Develop onboarding for new team members across Tech Ops, as well, event coordination & planning.
  • Oversee training and development programs for best practices, processes and tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Candidates should bring significant experience working within regulated medical devices or digital health environments.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrated experience leading portfolio governance, operating model evolution, and organizational effectiveness initiatives within medical device, digital health, or high-technology industries
  • Strong understanding of technical operations environments and cross-functional interdependencies; proven ability to translate enterprise strategy into structured execution systems, management cadence, and performance frameworks; experience designing and operationalizing prioritization models, executive operating forums, and performance visibility mechanisms
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience including hiring, developing, and leading senior individual contributors and managers; ability to build and scale a high-performing team; strong business and financial acumen with experience aligning investment decisions to strategic priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive disciplined execution in matrixed environments; experience navigating regulated environments and integrating governance with Quality System requirements
  • Ability to assess complex organizational systems, surface risks and trade-offs, and drive resolution; strong executive communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and enable informed decision-making
  • Demonstrated maturity, judgment, and resilience in high-visibility transformation environments
