Job description

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Sales Operations Director in Virginia. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing analytic and strategic direction, developing proactive communications between zones, customers, and senior sales management, and maintaining appropriate talent levels to ensure strong sales growth and loyalty to the Utz Brand of products.
This position will require an individual with strong management and leadership skills with a capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously across a wide geographic area. Candidates must have five plus years of management and DSD sales experience related to the retail grocery/snack food environment. Hands-on working knowledge of the internal functions of regional management, effective presentation and communication skills and a willingness to actively participate and work along-side your team is essential. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel weekly, including overnight accommodations, throughout a sizeable territory is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists Market Development Leaders with interviews and hires and helps to maintain a fully staffed region.
  • Proactively communicates and coaches Market Development Leaders to drive sales and marketing efforts to ensure sales growth, employment stability and product promotions.
  • Assists with process and makes recommendations to ensure effective and efficient region coverage through sales route optimization.
  • Communicates promotional sales activities and initiatives. Participates in regional meetings to advance the understanding and adoption of such programs.
  • Conducts frequent and interactive team sales meetings with Market Development Leaders building collaborative and effective sales group. Relays and provides vision for direction of corporate sales goals and objectives.
  • Works in collaboration with the Human Resources Department to resolve and manage personnel concerns in order to minimize front-line issues. Ensures policies and standards are appropriately in place throughout each sales region.
  • Salary range: $120,000-$150,000 plus bonus.

Requirements:
  • Proven leadership and management skills that deliver teamwork and results.
  • Strong communication skills that drive execution and support the company's mission and vision.
  • Exceptional selling skills with a minimum of five years' experience in consumer packaged goods.
  • Direct Store Delivery (DSD) experience involving route and warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience with the Independent Operator (I/O) model.
  • Experience working in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Requires the ability to lift, bend, rotate and carry items including operating small carts and equipment.
