Job description

The Director, Store Ops Reporting & Analysis will be responsible for providing leadership focused on reporting and analysis of key operational metrics. In addition to core report development, refinement & execution, this position will also be responsible for isolating exceptions, identifying gaps and trends to ultimately provide guidance and insights on opportunities to improve company financial and store performance. The candidate will be responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining key operational metrics and reports on time & accurately on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight to weekly reporting on key operational metrics for enterprise organization.
  • Analyze key data / metrics to identify trends and risks; developing mitigation solutions and recommendations
  • Provide gap analysis and insights to appropriate business owners
  • Present data in a format that is easy to understand and disseminate to all business levels
  • Provide optics and analytics on special projects for key business owners
  • Lead team of analytical thinkers to solve operational priorities through data analysis
  • Provide feedback and directional recommendations to ensure execution of business recommendations
  • Drive problem identification and resolution; lead process improvement efforts of department analytics.
  • Manage multiple resources and projects concurrently to ensure successful completion of analytic projects
  • Manage analytics team to develop predictive data models in early identification of exception opportunity stores/districts/regions
  • Accountable for the overall management of analytic projects including timelines, quality, and value
  • Develop and lead direct reports; including reviewing and approving work schedules and plans.
Minimum Requirements
  • Office work environment; 40+ work hours per week as business needs require
  • Proven ability to analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and operational performance drivers
  • Strong retail analytics experience, including analysis of sales, shrink, inventory, labor, productivity, customer behavior, store performance, and operational KPIs
  • Ability to convert data into clear, actionable recommendations that support operational decision-making and business strategy
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with experience presenting insights to leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and recommend practical business solutions
  • Excellent leadership skills with prior experience supervising, coaching, and developing direct reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across corporate, field, and store-level teams
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience improving reporting processes, automating recurring analysis, and creating scalable operational tools
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of retail financials, operational execution, and key performance metrics
  • Ability to partner effectively with Operations, Finance, Merchandising, Loss Prevention, Supply Chain, IT, and senior leadership
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Analytics, Operations, or related field required; Master's degree in Analytics, MBA, or related advanced degree desired but not required
  • Experience: 6-8 years of related experience in retail analytics, operations analytics, business intelligence, finance, or retail operations support
  • Job Related Skills: Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, prioritization, and project management skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Computer Skills: MS Office Suite required. Expert Excel skills required. Experience with
Other Technical Requirements:
  • Power BI, SQL or other query languages, large dataset management, dashboard development, data visualization, and reporting automation strongly preferred
  • Ability to act as a liaison between Operations and IT by translating operational needs into data, reporting, system, and analytics requirements; experience working with Google BigQuery, SQL, Power BI, APIs, and data from multiple internal and external sources preferred.
