Are you a strategic, people-focused leader who is passionate about marketing, building meaningful connections, and creating exceptional member experiences? We are seeking a Director of Membership & Marketing to lead the AYCC's membership and marketing strategy-connecting the full member journey from prospecting and acquisition through engagement, retention, and advocacy.
In this role, you'll provide strategic leadership across Membership Services, the Welcome Center, Child Watch, and membership-focused marketing initiatives. You'll guide audience engagement, shape campaigns and messaging, leverage data and insights to identify opportunities, and ensure the AYCC brand is represented consistently across departments and throughout the community. You'll also develop and empower a talented team, creating an environment where employees can grow, collaborate, and deliver outstanding service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide oversight for Membership Services, Marketing, and the Welcome Center. Understand and ensure all tasks and duties associated with Welcome Center are performed at a high level.
  • Design, develop and implement a talent pipeline in the Welcome Center through structured training & development programs.
  • Lead membership recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Set high-level marketing strategy for membership-related initiatives, including audience priorities, messaging direction, campaign goals, and measures of success, in coordination with leadership and program departments.
  • Develop, guide and implement strategic member engagement initiatives, including special events, open houses, promotional campaigns, and other outreach efforts that support membership growth and retention.
  • Leverage membership data, technology, reporting, and audience insights to identify opportunities, inform targeted engagement, and continuously improve the member experience.
  • Manage membership software & data and produce all related reports in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure systems are in place to manage, track, & approve financial transactions including registrations and financial assistance, in accordance with AYCC Financial Policies.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of AYCC Brand implementation, including internal & external marketing materials, promotional items, and resale merchandise.
  • Oversee the Child Watch program, including staff supervision, coverage, space safety and organization, registrations, reporting, and usage data.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance department to develop an annual budget and oversee its implementation. Design effective budget models, complete analysis of department financials, and share information with designated committees.
  • Accomplish department and organizational objectives by managing staff and their performance, planning, scheduling, and evaluating staff, recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff, coaching employees to foster growth opportunities and completing required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Recruit and manage, plan and schedule, orient and train volunteers and complete required volunteer paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with HR processes.
  • Provide high-level brand stewardship by ensuring consistency of message, tone, and visual identity in materials produced by all departments before dissemination.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in business, administration, marketing or hospitality, or experience commensurate with such, is required.
  • Current Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED and first aid certification or be willing to become certified within 90 days of employment.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in marketing, membership, customer service or equivalent relatable experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of computers, databases, and software, including Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
