Job Purpose
The Membership Sales Director is responsible for driving membership growth and revenue through proactive sales efforts, lead generation, prospect engagement, and membership conversion strategies. This role serves as the primary ambassador for membership sales, identifying opportunities to attract new members, cultivating relationships with prospective members, and communicating the value of club membership. Working closely with club leadership, the Membership Sales Director develops and executes sales initiatives that support membership enrollment goals and long-term club growth.
Responsibilities
  • Execute strategies that achieve membership enrollment and revenue goals.
  • Source, qualify, and convert membership prospects through tours, outreach, referrals, networking, and community engagement.
  • Conduct club tours and membership presentations for prospective members.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on leads and inquiries.
  • Track sales activities, lead sources, membership trends, and conversion metrics.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to generate membership opportunities.
  • Partner with club leadership to identify sales opportunities and membership growth initiatives.
  • Promote referral programs and support a club-wide culture of membership growth.
  • Represent the club at networking events, community functions, and promotional activities.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and membership records within CRM and club systems.
  • Prepare timely sales reports, forecasts, and membership activity updates.
  • Attend leadership meetings and support company initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, membership requirements, and applicable laws.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in membership sales, hospitality, golf, country clubs, lifestyle clubs, or other relationship-driven industries.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Golf knowledge is a plus.
