The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of owned and leased facilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor facility management leads and technicians, fostering a positive and high-performing team environment.
  • Oversee daily facility operations across owned and leased properties to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained environments.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and site reviews to identify needs, evaluate property conditions, and ensure maintenance standards are met.
  • Manage and monitor the work order system to ensure timely service delivery and resolve workflow challenges.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to identify short-term and long-term facility needs and support improvement and repair initiatives.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships, coordinate bid processes, and monitor contractor performance.
  • Oversee company vehicle maintenance programs to ensure preventative maintenance and operational readiness.
  • Ensure facilities remain compliant with CARF standards and applicable safety requirements.
  • Support construction projects, facility expansions, office relocations, and new site selection efforts.
  • Manage departmental expenses, credit card reporting, and budget-related processes in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to annual capital expenditure planning and strategic facility improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four or more years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, construction, or related field required.
  • Four or more years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of facility operations, maintenance practices, construction processes, equipment, materials, and infrastructure systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety practices, maintenance regulations, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, assign, schedule, and evaluate the work of staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of background screenings, including criminal history, driving record, and abuse/neglect checks.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, leadership, vendors, and the public.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to organizational goals, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Physical Requirements

  • Travel regularly between assigned facilities and organizational locations.
  • Walk through facility grounds, offices, and maintenance areas for inspections and evaluations.
  • Move throughout indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Visually inspect facility conditions, equipment, and maintenance-related issues.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, or move materials and equipment consistent with facility management responsibilities.
