Job Description:

Job Summary:

Supervise Crisis Teams to remain in compliance with all DMH, CCBHO and CARF expectations. Provides assessment, mobile response, and coverage when necessary. Monitor staff documentation and assist in required reporting and deliver information to the Director of Crisis Services. Functions in accordance with Brightli System Policies and Procedures and within their professional code of ethics.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists with collecting required department data, program evaluation, maintenance of various contracts for services, and other needs to ensure department compliance.
• Provide telephone and face to face crisis intervention; document all phone and face-to-face contacts on appropriate forms.
• Regularly review and monitor written documentation, providing corrective feedback and employee discipline as needed, to assure compliance with documentation requirements.
• Represents the Brightli system in the community by providing outreach, information and education, as well as participation in other community events.
• Coordinate necessary service delivery for clients served with 1:1 staff supervision, case discussions, review of documentation, and field mentoring.
• Facilitate the hiring and training of new staff as needed.
• Manage Crisis Staff within assigned teams and provides oversight to all Crisis staff on an as needed basis; not limited to hiring, training, professional development, and yearly evaluations.
• Within limits of experience, educational background, and Brightli time commitments, presents educational material in public forums to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health concerns.
• Develop and maintain partnerships within the community in order to integrate Crisis services.
• Provide crisis intervention services and participate in emergency services to provide rapid aid in cases of crises.
• Is responsible for team scheduling and will utilize coverage options to ensure all 24/7 crisis shifts are appropriately staffed.
• Assists in overseeing communication and collaboration between various programs within the Brightli system regarding supportive care pathway, BCC, CPRC, and recovery/treatment.
• Provide a safe place to conduct staff meetings where team members can communicate and build supportive professional relationships. Deliver agency and department updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services or Brightli Administration and other special functions as may, from time to time, be outlined and attached hereto.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Establish effective relationships via telephone and personal contacts.
• Able to communicate effectively before community groups, employees of the organization, and client's family members/natural supports.
• Must complete CPI, First Aid, and CPR certifications
• Adaptability (ability to perform effectively in the face of changing job demands)
• Initiative (taking necessary and appropriate action on one's own)
• Prior to being removed from probationary status, must demonstrate competencies in the required areas of crisis intervention, safety and legal issues, working with law enforcement.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

• Requires a master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related behavioral health field and be an experienced, qualified mental health professional
• Professional license preferred (PLPC, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW)

Supervisory Requirements:

• Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.
• Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.
• Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
• Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.
• Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
• Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual
• Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.

Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.

Employment Requirements:

• Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
• Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
• All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
• Current driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
