Our Organization

Director of the Psychiatry Program

Brockton, MA

We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in academic excellence and leadership within graduate medical education to oversee our Psychiatry training program and collaborate with affiliated training programs. The Psychiatry Program, known as the Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Program, is a substantial residency with 32 residents, accredited by ACGME, and is associated with the VA/Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. This program benefits from a vibrant clinical setting and a dedicated faculty focused on clinical research and education. We will consider applicants for the roles of Assistant or Associate Program Director based on their experience, with potential for the Associate Program Director to advance to the position of Residency Training Director.

The ideal candidate will possess a balanced background in direct clinical care, along with experience in teaching and supervising psychiatry residents and medical students. Appointments as Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor will be determined based on the candidate's experience, training, and accomplishments. This role offers a highly competitive salary, an extensive benefits package, generous leave, and eligibility for up to $200,000 in Educational Debt Reduction, along with a Recruitment/Relocation Incentive.

Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of significant administrative and leadership experience in Graduate Medical Education, along with strong interpersonal, clinical, and leadership abilities. Those applying for the Assistant or Associate Program Director roles will be considered if their experience does not fully align with the Program Director position. Board Certification in General Psychiatry, qualifications for an academic appointment at HMS, a commitment to serving Veterans, strong clinical teaching and supervisory skills, and a willingness to collaborate within an exceptional interprofessional team are essential. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
