Background Information and Objectives:
Objectives
To provide a Facilities Management Assistant who will independently support the day-to-day facilities and logistics operations of NIDA's Intramural Research Program (IRP) at the Baltimore Bayview campus, including supply delivery, mail routing, equipment transport, laboratory equipment maintenance, and related facility support duties.
Background
The National Institute on Drug Abuse requires contractor support to maintain efficient facility operations at the Baltimore Bayview campus.
SCOPE OF WORK
General Requirements: Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities, not otherwise provided by the Government as needed to perform the Statement of Work below.
Specific Requirements:
The Facilities Management Assistant shall perform the following tasks:
  • Pick up and deliver supplies to offices, wards, clinics, and other buildings both on and off hospital grounds using skids, pallets, carts, hand trucks, automobiles, and trucks.
  • Cover regularly scheduled mail route; hand deliver mail, specimens, and supplies to city agencies and non-city agencies and offices.
  • Load and unload equipment and supplies from trucks and automobiles; verify invoices.
  • Use a van to transport individual patients, staff, or groups between hospital buildings, offices, etc.
  • Complete and maintain non-complex reports and work records.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment such as glasses, metal instruments, sinks, tables, and test panels; ensure that adequate clean inventory is available for immediate usage.

Associate's degree
Experience
Facility maintenance, grounds maintenance, managing budgets, allocation and management of building space, general data acquisition and architectural programs; strong oral and written communication skills
Required Software: MS Office Suite, Outlook
Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid Maryland Class D driver's license
DELIVERY / DELIVERABLES AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
All deliverables are Ad-Hoc unless otherwise specified:
  1. Work products and documents related to picking up and delivering supplies; covering regularly scheduled mail route; hand delivering mail, specimens, and supplies.
