High School Musical Director

Job Description: 



  • Select the annual high school musical in collaboration with administration.
  • Develop and lead the overall artistic vision for the production.
  • Plan and conduct auditions (December 1416, 2026) and cast the production.
  • Create and manage the production budget.
  • Serve as the lead coordinator for the production team, collaborating with the following roles: Auditorium Manager, Lighting Engineer, Sound Engineer, Musical Vocal Directors, Musical Sectional Coaches, Stage Craft Production Manager, Costume Director, Event Coordinator, and other production personnel.
  • Schedule and conduct all staging, blocking, and acting for rehearsals beginning March 1, 2027.
  • Communicate rehearsal schedules, expectations, and production information to students, families, and production staff.
  • Lead the promotion and marketing of the production by coordinating with the Event Coordinator, parent volunteers, and Performing Arts Administrative Assistant to maximize audience attendance.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of the production from planning through strike.
  • Attend production meetings, technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, performances, and strike.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and production activities.
  • Ensure all production activities are conducted in accordance with school and district policies and procedures.
