Job description

Job Title: Enrollment Specialist, Counselor Coordination
Department: Client Services
Location: Plano, TX; McKinney, TX; New Orleans, LA; Columbia, SC; Indianapolis, IN
Reports To: Director, Enrollment
Job Summary
The Enrollment Specialist, Counselor Coordination oversees year-round enrollment service for Steele's customers and contracted 1099 Benefit Counselors (counselors). They will also be responsible for coordinating counselor assignments, while monitoring enrollment projects, and resolving enrollment challenges with support from the Director of Enrollment and Enrollment Specialist, Quality Assurance. Effective collaboration and communication with other departments is necessary to resolve customer, counselor, and team issues. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, understanding of call center best practice, and passion for providing excellent customer service will be foundational to their success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate completion of enrollment assignments by W2 and 1099 benefit counselors in alignment with the schedule, monitoring enrollment projects with support from the Director of Enrollment and Enrollment Specialist, Quality Assurance.
  • Promote effective cross-departmental communication to enhance enrollment process and foster a cohesive experience for customers and counselors.
  • Conduct the licensing process and collaborate with teammates cross-departmentally to confirm contracted counselors meet licensing requirements for the states in which they are assigned.
  • Conduct the appointment process and collaborate with teammates to confirm contracted counselors are appointed with carriers to facilitate applications as required.
  • Maintain and update the enrollment training process and content for counselors.
  • Schedule counselor training sessions (enrollment processes for contracted counselors, technology/system/software use, case-specific training with CSMs, etc.).
  • Facilitate training sessions to clearly communicate the organization's enrollment processes and expectations, while providing resources on how to use Steele's enrollment technology.
  • Procure and arrange appropriate travel accommodations (including hotels, rental cars, and/or airline tickets) for contracted counselors throughout relevant enrollment assignments.
  • Demonstrate a high-level of knowledge and understanding of employee benefit offerings (i.e., core and supplemental insurance benefits like medical, life, disability, accident, critical illness, and hospitalization) with the ability to locate customer specific benefit information.
  • Demonstrate skilled understanding and application when navigating Steele's enrollment processes and technology (i.e., benefits enrollment software, call center software, electronic appointment sign-ups).
  • Perform benefits enrollment/counseling services for employees requesting Steele's benefit enrollment services and/or benefits enrollment support using enrollment platforms and applicable call center software.
  • Assist the Director of Enrollment with developing, communicating, and implementing a unique enrollment strategy for each customer.
  • Improve current processes used to perform duties.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, benefits enrollment, call center enrollment, or similar area of work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Selerix benefit enrollment platform preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and an active Life & Health Insurance License preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office preferred.
