Sentara Medical Group has a Flexiposition available for anAcute CareAdvanced Practice Provider to join theHospital Medicineteam atSentara Princess Anne HospitalinVirginia Beach, VA.

The Hospital Medicine Program at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital (174 beds) is a well-established and robust service, managing an average daily patient census of80-90. The program is supported by a dedicated team of18physicians and 4 advanced practice providers(APPs).

Our teams are dedicated to cultivating an environment where every individual feels recognized, appreciated, and supported, enabling them to perform at their best for themselves and our patients. Our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are essential to this foundation, and we seek to continue to grow their impact and scope of practice throughout our hospitals.

Highlights Include:

  • ICU Model: Open ICU with in-person Critical Care coverage from 7a-7p and eICU support overnight (7p-7a), Vent management is provided by the critical care team.

  • Schedule: Variable shifts available for day and night

  • Admissions: Primary focus is on admissions and consults during the day and evening with a focus on cross coverage at night

  • Rounding: Opportunity to round on observation patients and selected low-acuity medical patients

  • Admission distribution is shared evenly among the admitting team, with an average of six admissions per 10-hour shift

  • No procedural or ICU responsibilities

  • Supervising physician on-site at all times

Qualifications:

  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) or Physician Assistant

  • Clinical rotation experience must include inpatient hospital medicine and/or intensive care experience
