Sarasota Magazine has evolved beyond print to become a dynamic, multi-platform media and storytelling brand. The Digital Platform Manager plays a pivotal role in this transformation, overseeing the magazines digital ecosystem, ensuring technical excellence, optimizing user experience, and driving audience growth across web, email, and social channels.


This role blends content operations, analytics, and technology management with a strategic understanding of digital publishing, SEO, and user engagement. The Digital Platform Manager will work closely with editorial, design, sales, and technology teams to make Sarasota Magazines digital presence as impactful and innovative as its print legacy.


Key Responsibilities:


Platform Management & Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of SarasotaMagazine.com and affiliated microsites
  • Manage the CMS, ensuring seamless content publishing, performance, and site integrity.
  • Liaise with development partners and IT teams for site updates, integrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure ADA compliance, page speed optimization, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
  • Maintain integrations with newsletter systems (e.g., MailChimp/HubSpot), ad servers, and any CRM tools.

Digital Strategy & Audience Growth

  • Develop and execute digital growth strategies aligned with editorial and business objectives.
  • Lead SEO strategy, ensuring all articles, landing pages, and event content are optimized for discovery.
  • Collaborate with marketing to manage email campaign segmentation, automation, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee social media platform publishing schedules and ensure brand consistency across channels.
  • Support digital revenue streams (native advertising, affiliate links, sponsored content, etc.).

Analytics & Insights

  • Implement and manage analytics dashboards (Google Analytics 4, Search Console, Data Studio, etc.).
  • Track KPIs such as pageviews, dwell time, newsletter signups, conversion rates, and engagement metrics.
  • Oversee monthly performance reporting to editorial, marketing, and sales leadership.
  • Identify audience behavior trends and recommend adjustments to content strategy, UX, or platform design.


Content Collaboration & Workflow

  • Work closely with editors and designers to schedule, publish, and optimize digital content.
  • Develop efficient workflows for article updates, tagging, media uploads, and SEO metadata.
  • Support multimedia storytellingvideo, audio, galleries, and interactive features.
  • Train staff on CMS best practices and digital storytelling tools.

Innovation & Product Development

  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and prototype new digital products and experiences/
  • Personalized news experiences powered by AI integrations.
  • Event-driven digital features.
  • Evaluate emerging tools and technologies that can enhance engagement, personalization, and monetization.


Qualifications

  • 4+ years managing digital content platforms (preferably for media, lifestyle, or cultural brands).
  • Strong experience with WordPress, HTML/CSS basics, and CMS workflows.
  • Proficient in Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and SEO tools (SEMRush, Ahrefs, or Yoast).
  • Deep understanding of email marketing platforms and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Later, Hootsuite, or Buffer).
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with newsletters and subscription models.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content personalization or CRM integrations.
  • Interest in Sarasotas arts, culture, and philanthropic ecosystem.
  • Graphic or UX/UI experience a plus (Figma, Canva, Adobe).
