About the Role:

The Business Development Associate seeks new business opportunities by developing relationships with potential customers among blue-chip companies in the US. You will be part of a dynamic, supportive team that drives new business growth, working with all company levels while supporting marketing campaigns and outbound communication projects.

The role will focus on various industries across Financial Services, Insurance, and Healthcare (Health Insurers and Hospital Systems). You will be prospecting new clients and calling them, using your expertise to help people understand the value CI brings to their business.

CI's methodology of tracking live accounts and reviewing the user experience across digital platforms positions us as the foremost experts in customer experience and competitive intelligence. We are seeking talented additions to our business development team to join us to continue our growth.

Responsibilities:

The Business Development Associate supports their team in a variety of ways, primarily through proactive prospecting activities and outbound communication. The successful candidates must be organized and able to manage multiple projects. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Researching and identifying prospect companies
  • Developing and executing strategies for outbound prospecting via email, phone call, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, etc.
  • Speaking with provided and self-sourced prospects to discuss needs and how CI would benefit them
  • Utilizing good discovery tactics and questions in a consultative sales style
  • Establishing a complete understanding of CI's research methodology and benchmarking services.
  • Ensuring that once meetings are booked, relevant research and information are translated to the Account Executive so that they are set up for success in their meetings
  • Following up on marketing qualified leads
  • Meeting weekly and monthly qualified call, meeting and opportunity goals to ensure company revenue objectives are met
  • Working closely with the Marketing team on lead generation and new business activities, including email campaigns and conference appearances

Experience & Skills:

We seek bright, outgoing, intellectually curious people who enjoy a challenge and will work hard to help our Sales team succeed. The ideal candidate has the following mix of experience, skills and personal attributes:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sales role of a similar capacity, including internships. B2B sales experience is desirable
  • Motivated, self-driven, confident, and professional in approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude
  • Passionate about the prospect of delivering competitive intelligence and user experience research to new clients and helping them transform their business
  • A flair for strong relationship-building on the telephone at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
  • Prior experience using sales enablement tools such as ZoomInfo to build cadences and generate meetings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and prospecting platforms (ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator/LinkedIn)
  • Proficient working knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of our core industries, such as Financial Services, Insurance, and Healthcare is a bonus
