Conde Nast seeks a Senior Director, Corporate Strategy & Development to support the company's strategic growth, including corporate strategy, business development, partnerships, investments, M&A and other high-priority corporate initiatives.
The Senior Director will support the SVP of Strategy, Business Development, and M&A in identifying new business opportunities and sourcing, qualifying, partnering with and acquiring companies that fit and accelerate Conde Nast's strategic priorities. This role will play an integral part in developing and implementing corporate strategy, identifying growth opportunities, including via acquisitive means, and driving transformational initiatives to help unlock growth for the company.
The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious, analytical and commercially minded leader who can develop deep domain knowledge across Conde Nast's brands, audiences, markets and competitive landscape. This person should be comfortable building financial models, developing strategic recommendations, preparing executive-level materials, project managing cross-functional diligence and execution processes, and working closely with senior leaders across the company.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Help build Conde Nast's M&A, investment and strategic partnership pipeline and support the execution of corporate initiatives on behalf of the executive leadership team.

• Develop deep domain knowledge of the media industry and audience, market, consumer and competitive dynamics to inform, identify and source strategic partnerships, acquisition targets and new business opportunities.

• Build and maintain relationships across the external market, including founders, operators, investors, bankers, advisors, strategic companies and potential partners, to strengthen Conde Nast's access to priority opportunities.

• Support the expansion of existing and new growth pillars, including delivering analytical assessments of existing business lines.

• Lead valuation, deal structuring, business case development and investment materials required to secure internal alignment and stakeholder support.

• Drive transaction execution across acquisitions, investments, partnerships and other strategic deals, including managing diligence, coordinating workstreams, leading negotiations, and advancing processes through closing and post-close integration.

• Manage company deal databases, target lists, market maps, opportunity pipelines, benchmarking and competitive intelligence analysis to inform Conde Nast's corporate strategy and future growth priorities.

• Brings people together across functions - Corporate Strategy, Editorial, Commercial, Product & Technology, Legal, Finance & Transformation to execute strategic projects throughout the company.

• Drive financial modeling, transaction structuring and long-range strategic planning processes in coordination with counterparts in Finance, Legal and Conde Nast's parent company.

• Prepare clear, concise and compelling materials for senior executives and other key stakeholders, including strategic recommendations, market assessments, transaction summaries and financial analyses.

• Builds credibility and influences decisions across teams and stakeholders through expertise, data, and effective communication.

• Acts as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and helping shape best practices, standards, and strategic direction.

• Work independently and cross-functionally to manage multiple workstreams, drive project timelines and move complex strategic initiatives from analysis to recommendation to execution.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• 7-10+ years of experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, business development, strategic finance or a related field.

• Ability to lead through influence rather than formal authority, driving outcomes, shaping direction, and supporting the success of colleagues and the wider organisation.

• Experience evaluating and executing acquisitions, investments, partnerships, new business opportunities or major strategic initiatives.

• Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to synthesize financial, strategic, market and operational information into clear recommendations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations and materials for senior executives.

• Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional workstreams with multiple stakeholders.

• High degree of ownership, attention to detail, discretion and comfort operating in ambiguous or fast-moving environments.

• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions, brands and levels.

• Knowledge of media, digital publishing, consumer internet, commerce, entertainment, events, luxury, advertising, subscriptions, marketplaces, licensing or related sectors preferred.

• BA/BS degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.

• Advanced proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets and PowerPoint / Google Slides.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $190,000-215,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
