We are currently hiring for an Engineering Manager in our Farmington Hills, MI, facility:


Position Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead efforts in optimizing equipment and manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing and improving manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for the management and enhancement of equipment and production processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency, and will lead a team of engineers and technicians. This position will be hands-on when necessary and will require working knowledge of PLCs, controls, and automation systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Equipment Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency, leveraging your 10+ years of experience in production engineering management. Implement maintenance and upgrade strategies to minimize downtime and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Manufacturing Process Enhancement: Analyze existing manufacturing processes and develop strategies to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and increase productivity. With at least two years of team leadership experience, guide your team in implementing process improvements to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality products.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and performance, drawing from your two years of leadership experience. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards. Implement quality control measures within the production process.
  • Cost Management: Work closely with the Finance department to manage the budget for equipment upgrades and process improvements. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that safety protocols and best practices are adhered to throughout the manufacturing process. With your extensive experience, you will be responsible for managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards. Ensure that the manufacturing processes and equipment comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, process changes, and performance improvements. Provide regular reports to management on production efficiency and quality metrics.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field required
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams is preferred
  • Proven experience in production engineering, equipment optimization, and manufacturing process improvement
  • Experience with PLCs, controls, and automation systems required

Our manufacturing facility is a climate-controlled environment. There is no long-term exposure to dangerously loud noise or extreme temperatures.

Attendance Requirements
