  • Position Summary
    • The Department Secretary is responsible for maintaining an organized work environment, coordinates incoming telephone messages, makes outgoing calls as needed, assists customers, orders tests and procedures, maintains post-op data and billing, and maintains the department payroll. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.

  • Core Job Functions
    • Promotes cooperation and maintains consistent, open communication within the department and other departments in the System. Demonstrates effective time management to promote productivity and cost efficiency. Reports issues to Manager and suggests ideas for improvements.
    • Demonstrates competence in the use of SPM. Logs in and out upon arrival and departure of department. Workload is accomplished with minimal errors and practices careful, efficient, and non-wasteful use of supplies.
    • Personnel in assigned areas are informed of temporary absence from the department and appropriate relief coverage is arranged as needed for breaks and lunch.
    • Uses resources wisely. Eliminates waste. Maintains supply par levels.
