Job Summary: The Department Coordinator willsupport the Chairman/ Director with his academic and administrative needs. The Department Coordinator will also coordinate the daily activities for the Department of Radiation Medicine.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for coordination and oversight of Chair/Director's administrative, clinical and academic schedules.
- Responsible for the preparation, distribution and maintenance of a physician on-call schedule.
- Responsible for physician and new hire onboarding efforts.
- Responsible for coordinating updates and changes to the departmental website.
- Maintains inventory and is responsible for procuring office supplies required for the department.
- Assists in department expense submissions to central administration.
- Maintains database for physician reimbursements, complete processing.
- Maintains a database for physician CME.
- Support the Chair with all academic and administrative needs.
- Support any needs for locum tenens.
- Liaise with the outpatient practice on referrals, patient needs, etc.
- Liaises with the Medical Staff Office and supports physician credentialing processes.
- Prepares documentation for faculty meetings.
- Responsible for taking minutes at meetings or arranging this responsibility to be done by others.
- Liaise with NYMC on faculty, student and resident paperwork, faculty appointment applications, etc.
- Coordinates medical student clerkships and visiting resident and fellow rotations in the department.
- Supports the onboarding of Faculty through NYMC systems .
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the department.
- Assist in the planning of conferences, symposiums, and outreach events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:Experience: 2 years in administration, required.
Education: Associate's degree, required. BS/ BA, preferred.
