Job description

Job Summary: The Department Coordinator willsupport the Chairman/ Director with his academic and administrative needs. The Department Coordinator will also coordinate the daily activities for the Department of Radiation Medicine.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coordination and oversight of Chair/Director's administrative, clinical and academic schedules.
  • Responsible for the preparation, distribution and maintenance of a physician on-call schedule.
  • Responsible for physician and new hire onboarding efforts.
  • Responsible for coordinating updates and changes to the departmental website.
  • Maintains inventory and is responsible for procuring office supplies required for the department.
  • Assists in department expense submissions to central administration.
  • Maintains database for physician reimbursements, complete processing.
  • Maintains a database for physician CME.
  • Support the Chair with all academic and administrative needs.
  • Support any needs for locum tenens.
  • Liaise with the outpatient practice on referrals, patient needs, etc.
  • Liaises with the Medical Staff Office and supports physician credentialing processes.
  • Prepares documentation for faculty meetings.
  • Responsible for taking minutes at meetings or arranging this responsibility to be done by others.
  • Liaise with NYMC on faculty, student and resident paperwork, faculty appointment applications, etc.
  • Coordinates medical student clerkships and visiting resident and fellow rotations in the department.
  • Supports the onboarding of Faculty through NYMC systems .
  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the department.
  • Assist in the planning of conferences, symposiums, and outreach events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: 2 years in administration, required.
Education: Associate's degree, required. BS/ BA, preferred.
